Using External JS editor with ServiceNow. Can it be done?

Hello,

It is NOT my intention to offend anyone, includding the creators/integrators of the ServiceNow SyntaxEditor module. It is, however, my opinion that it is a mess ineficient, and I believe that up to 80% of my frustrations as an ESS Helsinki+ portal maintainer/designer/implementer are related to this in-browser editor. I would desperatedly need a way to edit my Javascript in a mature, fully fledged desktop IDE, such as WebStorm or Visual Studio code (copy/pasting the code from one editor to another, over and over again, is killing me, and is not a solution).

Is there any way we can approach this? Can an integration scheme be thought of, and implemented? I would do it for free, pro bono publico. Just give me a lead.

Please share any suggestion you may have about this, I am willing to hear.

Thank you,

Claudius

I've also created an extension for visual studio code which also supports autocompletions for Glide APIs. Check it out in the marketplace at https://marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName=GelaniNijraj.iglooreloaded
