variable editor is not visible on approval form

Hi,

I am working on a requirement where I need to display the Variable Editor on the approval form. When I open the RITM, the Variable Editor is visible and all variables are displayed correctly. However, it does not appear on the approval form.

I have already created and added the Variable Editor formatter to the approval form through Form Layout, but it is still not showing.

Could someone please help me understand what might be missing and how I can replicate the same Variable Editor behavior from the RITM form onto the approval form?

Thanks in advance.

Hello @zee15

Not sure if this helps or not but i could get an KB Article .

See if that helps,

Thanks

The catalog variable editor works only on sc_task and sc_req_item so no you won't be able to do this. The variables are related to the sc_req_item and you can't edit the formatter.

There are many options depending on the ui you are using. On classic ui (oob) approvers should be able to approve from the approvals related list on ritm for example.

@zee15

why approver wants to see complete variable editor?

that person can see variables from portal when they approve/reject?

they can see it in native as well

I think you can ask your customer to train their approvers about the platform behavior rather than creating a customization for this

if you still want then check this and enhance

Variable editor on child task(other than catalog task)
