Variable formatter is not displayed

Hi all,

 

I have modified(copy of) OOB flow on the Request table(sc_request) which contains a create task activity, creating task in catalog task table. Now the issue is the variable editor is not visible on the task form though it is visible in the form layout. For the catalog tasks which are created via a workflow running on sc_req_item(Request Item), the variables are visible.
