What causes updates to appear on the work notes?

I was just wondering what causes amendments to a field to appear on the work notes:

I've been looking at various scripts, but I can't see what's causing this logic to happen. The updates in the work notes appear for certain fields and not for others. What's the best way of capturing the updates of any field and applying it to the work notes?

You can select fields for which you want to see the updates by clicking funnel icon in work notes section

Hi Matthew,

 

I believe you're actually looking at the activity stream there rather than the work notes. Work notes, comments, and other journal field entries can show up in the activity stream as well as attachments, emails, and field changes, depending on which fields you're monitoring for changes. If you're trying to determine why some fields are showing in the activities and some aren't, they can be configured on the form itself. Click the button and select the fields you want to show on the activity log.
