Hi Chandra,
If the (read-only) SNMP community string is not working, then double check the community string. That's supposed to be all you need for v2.

SNMP v3 is a bit different and I'll admit that I haven't done any discovery using it (yet).
Enable support for SNMPv3 in Discovery - ServiceNow Wiki
In the future, you may want to post this in IT Operations Management for more subject matter experts.

Hi Chandra,
As Chuck said you definitely need SNMP V2/V3 credentials to discover network components. ServiceNow designed in a way to discover Network components by SNMP credentials only.
Also, There is a possibility of Discovering it from SSH but ServiceNow does not have any probes and sensors for it. In fact, network team won't provide SSH credential to discover network components.
So the better way is from SNMP only. So talk to your network team and troubleshoot the SNMP community string with their help.
Regards,
Vivek
