What is logout.do?

I'd like to take a look at the actions that logout.do actually performs. I believe it's setting a few session properties that I'd like to check into.
Can anyone tell me what logout.do actually IS? Is it a script that is editable?

Steve,
logout.do is a OOB page where you can redirect user to logout. You can add them to navigation menu, simply users to logout without any script.

I understand what is does/how to use it. What I'm wondering is where are the "OOB pages" located? Are they viewable/editable?

Actually, maybe not... are Installation Exits applying beyond Fuji? Changing them in Helsinki seems to have no effect at all?
