"Assessment Instances" tab in a Change Request in ServiceNow is used to track the assessments or reviews that are associated with a particular change request.These assessments can be automatically generated or manually created depending on the configuration of your ServiceNow instance.

- Assessment Instances are created when an assessment is triggered for a change request. This could be due to a specific condition being met or manually initiated by a user.
- The tab provides a detailed view of all the assessments that have been conducted for a particular change request. This includes information such as the name of the assessment, the state of the assessment (e.g., Draft, Complete), the due date, and the assigned to person.
- The assessments can be used to evaluate the risk and impact of the change request, and the results can influence the decision to approve or reject the change.
- The creation of Assessment Instances can be automated based on certain conditions. For example, an assessment could be automatically triggered when a change request reaches a certain stage in the lifecycle.
- However, assessments can also be manually created by users. This is useful in situations where an additional review is needed outside of the standard process.
- You don't necessarily need to work on this tab while following the change request lifecycle process manually. It depends on your organization's change management process and how it's configured in ServiceNow. If your process includes assessments, then you would need to work with this tab.
- The Assessment Instances tab is part of the standard ServiceNow Change Management module and can't be removed. However, it can be hidden if it's not used in your process.
