if you are in the portal, hold CTRL and Right-click on the widget and you will see all of the available options to open the widget in an editor

The portal is where the widgets are displayed, i.e. /sp /hrsp depending on what you have called it, have you turned the service portal on?

if you don't have a module down the left hand side in the normal UI called 'Service Portal' with a 'Widgets' module in there, then I don't think you have activated the service portal plugin?

to go to my widgets in the my instance, I would add this to my instance URL:
