ServiceNow DevOps version 1.16 is now available featuring a key new integration.
GitLab provides a complete DevOps platform delivered as a single application. Our integration with GitLab picks up information when developers check code into a repository and then again when they are using GitLab’s included CI/CD capability to handle the build-and-test procedures that the code goes through. By connecting in this way, we can automatically create a change ticket when the code is ready to be pushed into a system that we care about, and we can use the information in change policies to determine if the change can be automatically approved. This saves considerable time when compared to more traditional manual change processes.
Many of our customers have different teams that each use different tools so adding GitLab means that they can manage and compare work across teams even if some are using GitLab and others are using something else like Azure DevOps. Developers can do the work wherever they’re most productive while seamlessly synchronizing and leveraging information.
All this information can be combined with operational data already in ServiceNow to provide new insights and to help with auditing the value stream.
