CSS for transparent Navbar Divider in Employee Center

Hi.. I'm looking to do a transparent treatment on the Navbar Divider and/or Navbar. I got this working on Service Portal, but no luck on Employee Center. Any help appreciated!

This is the concept I'm going for. A solid top Navbar with a transparent smoke divider menu. Like this mockup:

You can control background color with min obesity for main menu at theme or page level CSS. The only think that needs to make sure about nav link color as it is common used across main menu and top right menu.  EC uses the same framework used for the existing SP portal so should not be an issue.

Thank you. I definitely don't know what I'm doing, but I wasn't able to get this to work without edits to the "Employee Center Navigation" widget.
