Question About Learning ServiceNow!!!
I hope you are doing well.
I want to start by expressing my excitement about working with ServiceNow. As I explore this platform, I have a question: Do I need coding or scripting skills to use it effectively? I chose ServiceNow because I believe it is a low-code platform. However, I have seen many videos and articles that mention development skills might be necessary.
I want to be honest—I do not have any programming or scripting skills, and I’m not interested in learning them. Could you please guide me on the best path to take? I would appreciate any recommendations on training and certification options that would be suitable for someone without coding experience.
Thanks in Advance

Firstly, based upon the role you are choosing For Example: If you are selecting ServiceNow Developer you need to have an idea on scripting.
Below are links that you can see to improve your scripting :

Hi @RavishankerS ,
It is fine that you don't want to script on ServiceNow as this is mostly defined by your role. E.g. you can for sure be an administrator or business analyst etc. of the platform, but have developers working on the development part.
If my answer has helped with your question, please mark my answer as accepted solution and give a thumb up.
Best regards
Anders

Hello @RavishankerS
Even though you do not code, It's good to know ServiceNow scripting like Business Rules, Client scripts, Glide methods to understand how things work. in my opinion, Admin in long run wouldn't be much beneficial,There are few Techno Functional roles like BA, POs where you do not code but can excel if you have platform knowledge and soft skills required for those roles.
Please mark the answer as helpful and correct if helped.
Kind Regards,
Ravi

Depends on the role your in.
>Do I need coding or scripting skills to use it effectively?
Depends on what in ServiceNow you'll be using and what and how you're trying to improve.
Most of the things can be done without coding.
You'll only require coding on features that you want that is still not offered by ServiceNow.
If your role is application specific like service desk or human resources, you'll be OK without coding.
If you're infrastructure admin, ServiceNow will be able to collect information about the infrastructure, but scripting is required to set devices from ServiceNow.
