From what I've read, the ServiceNow CMDB is intended to catalogue and track an organization's IT assets. Straightforward enough. But ...
1) what about software? Where does CMDB's 'management' of software (e.g. - cmdb_ci_application_software / cmdb_ci_desktop_software / cmdb_ci_inf_software) end, and ServiceNow Software Asset Management (SAM) begin?
2) Does CMDB track day-to-day operations? For example, can ServiceNow CMDB track when a given laptop was last connected to the network, from which IP address, and using what credentials? If so, in what tables is that data stored? If not, what (if any) ServiceNow product provides such functionality?
