Problem: Report Creators requiring ITIL to view their reports

We have an ongoing issue where users who can build and share reports and Dashboards are really great at building such, but really dont have a handle on proper ways to share such.

Many times, the creators share to ITIL role, thinking they will be sharing to a big audience.

I'm tired of trying to 'spread the word' - "DONT DO THIS".

So as Platform Admin, I would like a way to block all users, except admin, from sharing a report or dashboard and requiring ITIL to view it.  (IE, I want to remove ITIL role from the list of sharing mechanisms at their disposal)

Any help appreciated.

Hi @StacyWhetzell ,

For Dashboard, follow it-

  1. Navigate to the dashboard to restrict to specific roles.
  2. Click the context menu open Dashboard properties
  3. In the Restrict to roles field, specify the additional roles required to access the dashboard.

For Report: Using BR , you can validate role and restrict to publish the report.
