FSM newbie

I am attempting to modify an existing FSM implementation, and it seems the work order we use is actually a template, so I am a bit confused as to how this is actually working. I would like to know if anyone else has this issue.

Details.
Work order business flow is set to auto qualification and manual assignment of the work order to the vendor once he excepts via email. I want to leverage contractor management eventually but for now, I am just trying to understand why it is that when I add the template field to the work order form the template created is the form used to create work orders. (Is your head spinning yet?) My head is exploding.

Flow: Draft, Ready for dispatch, Assigned, Work in progress, (added) On Hold, Closed, (added) Canceled.
Question: Does the Work Order Form, come OOB ready to go or is it build out. I can find no documentation that specifically states this. I have taken the On Demand Courses for FSM and paid for Implementation.
All guidance is appreciated.

Hi Karen, yes, FSM does come with out-of-the-box work orders and work order templates as part of the demo data installed with the FSM product.
