How do I update ESC Feedback Drawer Questions?

I am trying to update the feedback widget with new questions?  The OOTB definitions cannot be updated of course, but created a copy and still couldn't modify the questions.  I then created a custom feedback definition and setting the Experience Feedback definition to false.  I created a new survey and assigned it to the new definitions.  I did a copy of the Experience Feedback survey but when I view it on the portal page it does not show the same.  I am trying to avoid doing anything that would modify the OOTB script includes but I believe that is what is changing the behavior of that widget.  Does anyone know how to update this widget?
