How to use sign document if we use HTML Document Template

Hi Everyone ,
We have requirement to sign document ,but we are not sure get that done ,we checked the docs as well as existing configuration but we find sign document functionality is supported only for PDF Document Template Mapping such that when pdf_template field is populated on HR Case.
In our requirement we are using HTML Document Template ,so Sign Document functionality is not coming.
Are we missing something ,could anybody share some leads or findings or process to get that done.
