Modules are more or less standalone and should be easier to troubleshoot. There is the Override application menu roles checkbox, but that immediately didn't make sense as you both see the Self-Service menu that this is under (Ideas is just a separator module). It's probably worth trying with that checked. The module(s) you added the role to are under the Self-Service Application menu, correct?

Yes it's under Self Service Application Menu - don't want to remove it from there if I don't have to. But it's still not showing when I impersonate him.

The description on the idea_manager_professional role is
Users with this role can convert an idea to all the entities including demand and project
so that might be worth a try. Does this user also have the itil role?

Yeah that worked! That is the critical piece.
But he still can't see the Idea module options - only My Ideas under the Self Service App Module.
Any suggestions on that??

This is what my module record looks like
We were restricting it to itil, but I changed it to idea_manager in this environment and confirmed a user with no roles only saw My Ideas. I added the idea_manager role to this user, then impersonated them and Create New appeared as expected.
An ACL could cause this module to be hidden. Is the idea_manager user able to create new idea records - either from the list view or a direct URL like this?
