In the Yokohama release the Field Service Management (FSM) applications Appointment Booking, Dynamic Scheduling, and Dispatcher Workspace moved to denormalized tables. Denormalized tables collapse multiple tables’ worth of data into a single table. This improves the time it takes to load data related to the three features mentioned.

Denormalized tables store 11 weeks’ worth of Appointment Booking, Dynamic Scheduling, and Dispatcher Workspace data. System administrators can change the number of weeks worth of stored data, and can disable denormalized tables with system properties.

Switching to denormalized tables resulted in a noticeable improvement for the load time of Appointment Booking, Dynamic Scheduling, and Dispatcher Workspace. There are plans to expand denormalized tables to other FSM applications in future releases.
