FSO Implementation Question

Hello,

We are in the process of vetting the FSO module as an internal solution.  The proposed implementation strategy was to install FSO on a completely separate instance, almost as a stand-alone. 

Has anyone who has previously implemented FSO have it running on your current instance? Or is it best practice to run it common to run it on a separate instance? The pushback we have received from wanting to install it on our current instance has raised some questions on the modules integrity within our organization. Plus, we don't necessarily want to pay for a new instance to run FSO if it is not necessary.

For the questions on the modules integrity within your organization, you can always go with Domain separted rather than maintaining a different instance all together.
