"Organizing is what you do before you do something, so that when you do it, it is not all mixed up."
-A.A. Milne
Bring the power of ServiceNow to contracts, assets, and configuration items. To better organize contracts, the Contract Management application enables you to associate a contract with specific assets or configuration items. Creating this link can clarify what a contract covers and allow you to run detailed reports. For example, create a contract for ongoing maintenance of enterprise software.
Contracts are often written for:
- leases
- warranties
- maintenance
- service
To link a contract with an asset:
- Navigate to Contract Management > Contract > All.
- Select a contract.
- In the Assets Covered related list, click New.
- In Asset, select a specific asset covered by the contract.
- In Date added, select the date (past, present, or future) the asset was added to the contract.
- In Date removed, select the date the asset was, or will be, removed from the contract.
- Click Submit.
To link a contract with a configuration item:
- Navigate to Contract Management > Contract > All.
- Select a contract.
- In the Contract used by related list, click Edit.
- In the Collection configuration items list on the left, double-click a configuration item name.
- Click Save.
ServiceNow offers more information about contracts.
