In NowForum: ServiceNow CreateNow Hackathon Comes to Europe I've written about the power of the ServiceNow Service Automation Platform and App Creator application for custom app creation.

This seasonal blog post pays homage to Paul Hardy, Informa's Director of ITSM and a forward-thinking ServiceNow customer, who has been treating his Twitter followers to a #SNOWadvent calendar showcasing some of the custom applications, built on ServiceNow, used by Informa.

As with many advent calendars Paul hasn't necessarily opened a window a day — as of today, December 17, he has tweeted 9 times across 16 days but I guess we can allow the man to take the weekends off. Sadly, however, there is no chocolate involved.

Let's open those nine calendar windows

  1. December 2 — "Travel Management, log a trip and destination management (airport selection)."
  2. December 4 — "Very cool cleanup tool, select a winning and losing CI, and it transfers all related items and disables the *****."
  3. December 4 — "Visualising our global offices, warehouses and datacentre locations leveraging data from @servicenow."

  4. December 5 — "A late #SNOWadvent today but the picture says it all."

  5. December 7 — "Super simple "Quick Docs" app removes the need for notes taking in meetings using pen/paper!"

  6. December 9 — "Quickly build CAB Agenda with this app. Includes changes, outages and attendee list."

  7. December 10 — "Course Management app that helps the business manager internal training courses for staff."

  8. December 12 — "Audit Tracker app helps us manage and address internal audit findings in a controlled way."

  9. 16 December — "Travel Management app allows the business to track countries most visited during the year"

More to come?

We're not quite at Christmas yet so follow @PaulHardyUK or the hashtag to find out what else Paul and his Informa colleagues have been creating with ServiceNow.
Plus Paul is a friendly and chatty guy. If you want to know more about how Informa is using ServiceNow in more and more IT and line of business use cases I'm sure he would be happy to chat.
