CMDB Success Advisor is a data optimization feature that enables CMDB admins to drive their outcomes for targeted applications like HAM by improving the CMDB data quality. With the help of CMDB success advisor, you can review and improve the ITAM rules, CMDB Data Manager policies and CMDB settings tailored for specific applications like HAM. CMDB Success advisor is available separately as a Store Application which can be downloaded into your ServiceNow instance.
How to access CMDB Success Advisor?
CMDB Success Advisor can be access via the CMDB Workspace -> Home for both setting up and managing the application-specific dashboards.
Assign roles for CMDB Success Advisor Users.
Leveraging CMDB Success Advisor for Hardware Asset Management (HAM)
A CMDB admin can use the HAM dashboard in CMDB success advisor to keep the HW asset data accurate and aligned with the data quality guidelines to perform the following,
1. Set up CMDB success advisor for HAM
2. Monitor CMDB data quality for HAM to identify and address data quality issues specific to HAM in CMDB
3. Improve CMDB data quality for HAM, use the remediation actions panes available for a data card in the success dashboard for HAM to improve the overall quality of CMDB
4. Analyze the data integrations for HAM to improve HAM data coverage by analyzing existing and suggested data integrations, including discovery patterns, Service Graph connectors.
5. Analyze CMDB settings for HAM, to monitor and optimize CMDB settings that support CI-to-asset sync, lifecycle alignment and HAM data quality.
