Yesterday I went to the Servicedesk and IT Show in Earls Court London.
ServiceNow were of course front and centre on the show floor and the staff and partners manning the stand looked absolutely swamped with people at times.
I went mainly to meet up with people, check out some of the sessions and to see new products.
Here are just 2 highlights from the show, I had a great time just wandering around and meeting new people.
The Great SaaS debate
Day 1 saw The Great SaaS debate on the Tuesday seemed to spark some interesting debate and I was sorry to miss it.
Roy Illsley (Ovum), Chris Dancy (ServiceNow), Rosh Hosany (AllianceBernstein), Quentin McPhee (Vivantio) and Ian Aitchison (LANDesk Software) debated the merits of on-demand and on-premise software.
It is certainly a topical subject but I wondered, seeing that nearly every new ITSM tool vendor is now delivering their product as a service, whether the same topic will be relevant in years to come?
Depending on which panelist you agree with we'll be looking at between 50 and 90% adoption of SaaS in 3 years
The #back2itsm website launch
The lively grassroots ITSM community known as #back2itsm launched their new website
