We’re excited to announce an important change in how we deliver implementation guidance and resources to our teams and customers.

On December 5th, the Now Create portal will be retired and replaced by the new Best Practices site—a unified destination for all ServiceNow implementation best practices. Begin exploring and becoming familiar with the Best Practices site (available now!).

👉 Please update your bookmarks and use the following link to access Best Practices:

1. What is the new Best Practices site?

Best Practices is ServiceNow’s new, centralized home for all implementation, onboarding, security, and support best-practice guidance. The site is designed to provide:

  • A single, consistent experience for accessing best-practice content

  • A modern search experience, including AI-powered results and preview capabilities

  • Guidance organized across the full customer journey

2. Why is Best Practices replacing the Now Create portal?

Best Practices replaces the portal, not the Now Create content or methodology.

This change allows us to:

  • Deliver one experience for all best practices across ServiceNow

  • Improve content discoverability, searchability, and downloadability

  • Consolidate guidance previously spread across multiple locations

  • Continue growing a single library of trusted, authoritative resources

3. Why are Best Practices and Now Create available at the same time?

For a smooth and transparent transition. The overlap period allows users to:

  • Explore Best Practices at their own pace

  • Provide feedback that will guide enhancements

  • Download any Now Create materials that may be retired

  • Prepare teams and update internal workflows before the December 5 cutoff

4. Do users need to update their existing Now Create URLs or bookmarks?

No action is required.
All existing Now Create URLs and bookmarks will automatically redirect to the corresponding pages on the Best Practices site after December 5.

5. Will there be enablement and training for the Best Practices site?

Yes. Several enablement options are available:

  • Two introductory Best Practices methodology videos currently live on the site

  • A WalkMe-guided first-time login experience, including tour of search, product collections, and success packs

  • We encourage all teams to explore the site and share feedback on usability and content discoverability

6. Is there a list of assets that will not migrate to Best Practices?

Yes. A full list of retired or non-migrating assets will be attached to this post in the near future.

7. Is this transition being communicated to all customers and partners?

We have a coordinated cross-functional communication plan:

  • All customers will receive an email announcement on December 8

  • All partners will receive an announcement in upcoming newsletters

  • Automatic URL redirects for a seamless transition experience

8. Is the Best Practices site publicly accessible?

Yes. The new Best Practices site is publicly available to anyone accessing the site. However, majority of the implementation content is only available once logged in with a ServiceNow ID.

9. Will navigating to Now Create content on the new site be intuitive?

Yes. Now Create content is available directly within Best Practices and is supported by:

  • Clear methodology explanations

  • Organized product collections

  • Robust search capabilities

  • First-time WalkMe guidance

We welcome feedback to ensure the experience is intuitive and helpful.
