There are moments in your career that immediately stand out as transformative. This year’s Global Partner Ecosystem Summit (GPES) was one of those for me.

I came to ServiceNow in part because of a bold (some might say audacious) vision – of a vibrant, dynamic partner ecosystem that drives exponential value for our shared customers. One thing was abundantly clear during this year’s event: we are well on our way to turning that vision into a reality.

At GPES, we unveiled a new kind of partner experience for a new era, one that can be summed up by a single word – intimacy.

Intimacy can mean different things to different people, so let me explain our definition. It means that to be a partner in our ecosystem is to be an integral piece of our corporate vision. It means partners are equal as we co-create new market opportunities for our shared customers. Most importantly, it means working in lock step together towards a shared purpose – to make the world work better for everyone.

From today onward, we're driving intimacy into everything we do through:

  • Shared Processes – we’re fundamentally reimagining our systems and process to drive an unprecedented level of collaboration and trust.
  • Shared Challenges – we're aligning on the shared challenges of our clients and jointly tackling them through partner offerings and solutions.
  • Shared Opportunities – we're providing an unprecedented level of transparency in terms of where we believe the best opportunities exist to create new markets.

We’re also introducing a third go-to-market motion: Co-Create. Deloitte’s Chief Commercial Officer Asish Ramchandran, who joined me on stage, explained co-create well – it comes down to making vs. taking. Co-sell and co-deliver are about taking advantage of existing opportunities. Co-create is about making market opportunities, through enhanced partner collaboration and an intimate knowledge of our shared customers.

Finally, we communicated our steadfast commitment to our partners in our Partner Pledge – delivered by Bill McDermott himself, showcasing just how integral our partners are to our vision of ‘making the world work’. He ended the pledge with this: “Every business has companies they love working with. When you work with ServiceNow, you have a partner who loves you back.”

Now that’s intimacy in action.
