Change 'from' address for one notification in ServiceNow

Hi Team,

I want from address for one notification to be different , something like 'companyname_compliance@service-now.com'.

I tried updating notification 'from' address with companyname_compliance@service-now.com but it did not work.

So created a user account with companyname_complaince and email as 'companyname_compliance@service-now.com' and then it worked.

But no where in docs its mentioned that we need to create a user. Can someone please explain how this is working?

Couple of things

1)Have you checked the outbound email logs - what it says for the from address?

2)Check with different from address and observe the behavior.
