Differences between non-production and sub-production instances

If you look at the official ServiceNow documentation (e.g. PMA)
I find that it says non-production instances.
Looking at past community messages, I find one that says sub-production instance.
I believe that non-production instances and sub-production instances are synonymous, is this correct?
Please enlighten us.
非本番インスタンスと副本番インスタンスの違い

非本番インスタンスと書いてあることを見つけています。
過去のコミュニティのメッセージを見ると、副本番インスタンスと書いてあるものを見つけました。

Hi, Non - Prod represents the DEV, TEST, QA instances.
Sub - Prod represents the back up of Prod. what are the things available in the prod the same will be present in sub-prod.

Hello,
Yes Sub-production is any non-production instance. Both are the same thing.
Typically a ServiceNow customer will purchase a subscription and with that they are entitled to one or more sub-production instances. Production is where the subscriptions are actually used to support their organization. The sub-production instance(s) can be used for testing, development, training, etc. A key difference is that sub-production instances do not include the full Advanced High Availability (AHA) architecture that production instances include.

Hello,
Just to explain in Layman's language both are same, Some may call it sub prod some call it non prod but both are same, Generally they are required for development purpose before moving anything to Production.
