Title: Hybrid Search not triggering semantic search – Zurich Patch 9 Self-Hosted
Hi everyone,
We are troubleshooting Hybrid Search in a Zurich Patch 9 self-hosted environment.
Current setup:
BYOM embedding model: multilingual-e5-large-instruct
Semantic index configured and active
Indexed source mapped to the Search Profile
Query-time embeddings are generated successfully in AIS logs with no errors
semantic.mode = hybrid
However, AIS Preview still returns:
"semanticSearch": false
Keyword search works, but the semantic part of Hybrid Search does not appear to be triggered.
What determines whether AI Search sends a semantic request, and is there any additional configuration required to enable it?

Additional configuration details:
* Semantic Index Configuration: HybridPOCSemantc
* Semantic fields: u_content, u_title
* Indexed table: sn_ais_rag_hybrid_poc
* BYOM model is registered in ais_semantic_embedding_model with:
* embedding_source = GLIDE
* active = true
* semantic.mode = hybrid
* q.threshold = 80
* AIS logs show embeddingCount=2 during the query, with no embedding-related errors.
So query-time embedding generation appears to be working. The part we are trying to understand is why AIS still reports semanticSearch: false and does not appear to execute semantic retrieval.
