Agent Client Collector, when to upgrade the agent?

Agents are installed and upgraded using software distribution tools. Individual agents don't have 'outside' access, not possible to reach install.servicenow.com.

 

How do you decide if it is necessary to upgrade the agent to a newer version?

 

Do you use the Agent Feature Matrix and decide based on the 'unsupported features' or...

@hdr: you don't have to upgrade the agent at every single store release ; maybe once a year would be enough for your environment. You can simply read the release notes in the store for ACC-F and see if there is anything relevant, for example new OS versions supported, fixed issues during upgrades, newer version of osquery. For example, ACC 3.5.5 introduced signed acc.exe and ruby.exe on Windows; this could be a requirement from your Security department.
