Dear ITOM specialists,
We want to start using AIOps receiving metrics from Azure for Microsoft SQL databases.
Via Azure Cloud discovery we get databases ([name@SQLServer]) in class cmdb_ci_database, without an object ID, as type Microsoft SQL Server.
But to use AIOps I need to whitelist the Cloud Resource named microsoft.sql/servers/databases. And this will add the same database ([name]) to the class cmdb_cmp_resource (without any relation to the resource group).
My question is, is there a way for AIOps to use the databases discovered and stored in cmdb_ci_database instead of the cloud resource database?
Is there a way to exclude SQL Server database to be discovered in cmdb_ci_database, but store all others?
And lastly, why do resources don’t automatically have a relationship to the Resource Group or Subscription? The data is in the object ID and it makes sense to have that insight.
Any other suggestions are most welcome.
Cheers,
Arno
