Bulk record/approval best way to do this?

We have around 500 records that have been uploaded before their was a approval workflow in place.

What would be best way to do a bulk upload of approvers? Currently my thought process is to delete all 500 records and reupload them, but looking to the community for a better solution if possible.

If you don't want the workflow to be triggered, you can export the data to excel, change the value in the Approval column to approve, and use a transform map coalescing on RITM to update them.

If you do need the workflows to trigger, you may be best just to show them in a list view, set your view to 500, select them all and right-click and approve.

when you say you have 500 records?

User records? RITMS?

If you want to bulk upload approvers, you would do an import w/ import set.

If you are thinking of deleting 500 records and just re-uploading them, it sounds like you could probably write a script and update those 500 records.

Create a scheduled job and script the changes that need to be done.

If you could add some clarity here, we could probably better assist you.

What kind of records are we talking about here?     Are they requests of some sort?   If so, why do we need the approval logged from a time when we did not have approvals generated?   Meaning:   Is this a compliance requirement, or is it a data cleanliness thing?

This is a request for acceptance of not following standards. An manager will need to approve it and be aware. We need to capture this now and let them know of it.
