CMP vs CPG

Does the Cloud Management Platform(CMP) and Cloud Provisioning & Governance (CPG)are same?

If not,

Kindly share some inputs reg CMP

Hi,

CMP is a common term used in industry. It refers to tools that can manage your Cloud. There are lot of tools available in the market for the same. Datadog is a CMP tool used by one of my customers.

CPG is the module available from ServiceNow. Some people still feels that CPG is still lagging behind in features available in CMP tools available in Market. However CPG is integrated with ServiceNow. So, if you are already using ServiceNow then you have to check your requirements for implementing CMP. Based on that you can decide to go with CMP or stay with CPG

Hi , 

Yes they are same ,  Starting with the Paris release of ServiceNow, the product Cloud Management was renamed to Cloud Provisioning and Governance to more accurately reflect its functionalities.

To better align with its strategic focus on cloud management and to emphasize the product's role in providing a unified approach to managing cloud resources. The new name reflects a broader scope of functionality and enhances clarity around its capabilities, particularly in integrating and managing / governance of various cloud services.
