Discover Meraki devices(MR44, MR46 & MR56) in WAP Table

Hi all,

Could you please help me, to discover Meraki devices (MR44, MR46 & MR56) in Access Point table instead of "IP Switch" table(OOB Functionality).

I searched and mostly I could find, need a custom pattern for it, also I could not find OID for these models as well. while most of the article/post on community met dead end, hoping this one would get solved.

Note: I have already raised a request with HI Portal and got response as below-

Hi @Arpit_S ,

You should create the new SNMP classified and mapped the target table for particular Meraki WAP and attached the pattern.

Also for WAP discovery, you should discover the Wireless controller in first place and then WAP Devices discovery needs to do.

Hi Ajay,

I am new to the this CMDB, could you please explain step by step, if you could?

I got it I need to create a new SNMP OID record and map it to WAP table.

"Also for WAP discovery, you should discover the Wireless controller in first place and then WAP Devices discovery needs to do."

What exactly these means?  and how to get OID, as somebody said, the OID i am getting right now is a generic one and not the actual one, could you please confirm this as well

Hi Arpit,

Yes Meraki WAPs are not supported OOB by ServiceNow. If you want discover them, you first need the MIB which will have the relevant OIDs- This you can request it from your network team who can raise a ticket with Meraki and they will help in providing it. Once you have that information, then you need to proceed step by step of creating a classifier, mapping/extending the pattern or write a custom pattern.
