Discovering network devices with in-band and out-of-band IPs?

We have a few network appliances that have both in-band and out-of-band IPs that both respond via SNMP (somewhat differently). Things like StealthWatch appliances sitting on Cisco UCS Servers. The UCS system is not centrally managed, so the plans that are outlined at the link below are not helpful:

Others include Cisco APIC Servers with CIMCs.
I'm wondering if anyone else has any experience with these and how you've chosen to tackle them. I'm on the fence about creating individual CIs and relating them (lots of custom pattern work and digging for MIB files), vs excluding certain IPs from discovery. Any thoughts are appreciated.
