How should Discovery handle the virtual name of a cluster? It appears that Discovery will occasionally add the cluster VIP as a Windows server CI in the cmdb_ci_winserver table. The behavior is inconsistent, so I'm not sure exactly how it is supposed to work. I'm thinking that the Cluster VIP should not be added to the cmdb_ci_winserver table. Also, when the virtual name is created in the CMDB, it is picking up the same attributes of the active physical node for the cluster.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Rick,
Discovery shouldn't 'occasionally' do something to a consistent item ever.. if its a cluster VIP then for sure it should not be in Server table..
I would recommend contacting support, they can get into your instance to look at the particulars of the situation .. let us know the results of your good work!

Doug
Thanks for the info. I will open a ticket with support. Should we have an entry in the CMDB_CI_DNS_NAME table for the virtual name? I'm creating a Service Request where I'm trying to leverage our CMDB data so that I use can select a server resource from a reference field. Thanks.
