Bernardine,
Yes the IP address used to access your instance as well as the IPs that your instance will use to talk back to you will definitely change when you move datacenters. You can find your current IP addresses here: Service Catalog > Instance Management > My IP Information. Unfortunately it doesn't appear that we have a function builtin that would tell you the IP addresses used by the paired datacenter for your instance, you can however create an INT for us to provide that information.
Thanks,

Understood. Thanks for clarifying for those that don't understand private vs. public IPs.

Thanks very much, Reid for all the information! Just another question then, if our current IP addresses (Primary & Secondary) are put in our firewall rules to allow outbound access to ServiceNow instances from the MID server, what would happen when data centres and the corresponding ip addresses are changed? Thanks!

Bernardine,
If only the IP addresses for your current active datacenter are allowed in your firewall and the datacenter changes, then your MID server would be blocked. So we recommend to either not filter what your MID server can access outbound or to allow IPs from both the active & standby datacenters. For security sake I unfortunately can't paste in what the IPs would be for your secondary datacenter here.
Thanks,

Thanks Reid, but is there not a point in time when both active and standby data centers could change IP addresses? In this case the MID Server would be blocked even if we had IPs from both the active & standby datacenters. Or am I misunderstanding this? If both ip addresses do at some point can change, would we get notified somehow?
By the way, we are able to view both the primary & standby ip addresses when logging into Hi. Thanks for all your help!
