Do we have any option to move back from Tag-based application service to service Instance (Formerly known as Application service)

Ideally there should be a way to reverse this, incase it is incorrectly mapped or there is a change in the mapping criteria. Please help if there are any such options?

Hi @perumalselvam

In ServiceNow, once an Application Service is mapped using the Tag-based method, the classification is typically locked in the UI, and there is no direct way to revert it to a manual service. To move back or change the mapping criteria without losing the record’s history, you can manually reclassify the record by changing its Class back to cmdb_ci_service_auto (Service Instance) from a list view or via a background script.

Once the class is reset, the Application Service Wizard will allow you to select a different population method. Alternatively, if history is not a concern, you can retire the incorrect service and create a new one using the desired mapping criteria.

Check this related post, maybe this can help you:
