Event Management with Dynatrace - Binding service and application events to CIs

Hi all,


We're sending events from Dynatrace to ServiceNow for event management.

 

Most events we have that are sent by dynatrace are related to problems with Applications and Services. We're having difficulty binding these events to CIs as we have thousands of these monitored by Dynatrace.

 

Previously, we used to add tags in applications and services in dynatrace to be able to bind to a CI in the CMDB which had a support group for the application or service. This workaround involves a lot manual labour in adding and maintaning tags in dynatrace.

 

We've also tried the Dynatrace Service Graph connector for observability to import CIs from dynatrace. We're able to bind to CIs that have been created by dynatrace but these CIs have no support group.

 

Anyone have experience with Dynatrace and ServiceNow and managing events from service/apps ? Are you able to create incidents and assign it to the right support group? What was your strategy?
