We performed a full clone to our Dev Instance. I'd like to know what our options are for disabling Notifications for all users. I know an individual user can make a change from their Preferences, but I want to perform either (1) an instance wide shutdown of Notifications or (2) Restrict a Select Set of Users from sending Notifications.
- Is there a system parameter that can be set?
- I saw a post regarding changing the Notification field in sys_user. I want to confirm that if the Notification field is set to Disable for a user, then this Disables Notifications/Emails to that user.
Thanks in advance for any insight you can shed on this topic.

Hi @Renee-17
You can configure the sending and receiving of emails via the 'Email Properties'
Type 'Email Properties' into the navigation menu and view the options (As shown below).
Options available to you:
- To turn off all sending of emails - simply uncheck the 'Email sending enabled' checkbox
- If you want to direct all emails to one mailbox for example (so developers/admin can still check things), type the email address to receive the emails into the textbox labeled: 'Send all email to this test email address (non-production testing).'
You can add more than one email and separate them with a comma.
Tip - if you're toggling with the settings or ever re-enabling the emails after previously having it disabled, I'd recommend checking the 'Emails' log before enabling the email again and clear the queue.
(Set any emails that are pending or ready to send to send-ignore so they are not sent when the email is turned back on)
This is where the 'Send all email to this test email address (non-production testing).' field is helpful, as you should populate this first to a designated email account when turning email back on to ensure any historic emails that have not been checked or set to send-ignore are filtered. Once confirmed that emails have not been sent or slipped through the queue, clear this field to allow sending to anyone)
To help others (or for me to help you more directly), please mark this response correct by clicking on Accept as Solution and/or Helpful.
Thanks, Robbie

Thank You! The fields on the Email Properties page is greyed out and prevents me from making any changes there. I take it this means I have to go to sys_properties.list to make the change of the actual glide field that shows up when I hover over the fields question mark. Or is there another place where I can make the change or enable this page to allow me to make modifications.

Hi @Renee-17,
That's interesting. I'll go ahead and make a few assumptions here before I scratch my head.
I assume you have the appropriate admin role on the instance - please confirm
Thanks, Robbie
