How to set FQDN field to Name field in ESX server by Discovery

Hi Team,

I would like to set FQDN field to Name field in Discovery so that Discovery should pull the FQDN value to Name field instead of hostname.

Please suggest how and where to set this?

HI @prashantnagaral ,
Use the Quick discovery of one the CI with FQDN.
Now, in the related list, check the pattern that has run for Identification section.

You can see the mapping of the fields in the pattern. 
Create an Extension section and map the field.

ESX devices discovered by VM ware hence no IPs to discover directly.

I am trying to set up the Discovery for VMware Vcenter

Isn't a cloud service account needed to be configured with the vsphere datacenter url to be able to run discovery of the vmware datacenters? 

just wanted to check with you if you had performed this discovery action already.? Because I was just trying to implement this in my Environment, we have VMWare - vCenter Datacenters which we are able to discover but not the Servers like ESX Servers which are hosted on these Datacenters.

The discovery logs show only discovering the VMware not the actual ESX servers. 
We do have these ESX Servers in CMDB through other integration sources, but majority of CIs have their operational status as non-operational, and these are not getting properly discovered by the ServiceNow Horizontal Discovery.

I am wondering what are the requisites and actions which I have to take in order to make sure I discover these ESX servers and keeping them with up to date information. As the End goal is to map these Servers to Service Mapping which is not possible without completing the Horizontal Discovery.

Would be glad if anyone has already performed this successfully and can share any information on this would be helpful.
