We have a requirement to map multiple agencies tagged to a business application.
current process:- We are creating multiple business app records(we are maintaining business apps manually) and mapping corresponding agency (agency field is a plain text field) against them. Now the requirement is to rather creating multiple business apps, there should be business app and multiple agencies has to mapped to that app.I though of multiple ideas to implement this like. Creating a choice field field so we can select multiple agencies under a agency...but this wont work ...Another approach i thought of using many 2 many mapping table. and use that as a related list to show the mapping, But again...I COULD SEE complexities here as well like.....currently all our ITSM workflows are pointing to cmdb_ci business app table, creating this table that too for multiple agencies is again not going to work as it will disturb the mapping for our workflows, second maintenance of two tables.that will again impact reporting....
Could you please suggest a solution how we can implement this relationship which at least works in favor of reporting and ITSM workflows. What would you suggest. Please Let me know your thoughts??? Currently our business apps has one to one mapping also..one business app and one agency...the focus is on mapping multiple agencies for a business app. How you have handled such requirement for other customers ??
