I'm trying to setup a MID server using mid-windows-installer.vancouver-07-06-2023__patch9-hotfix2b-07-22-2024_08-06-2024_1737.windows.x86-64.msi on a Windows Server 2022 VM and I cannot validate MID Service Settings to proceed with the installation.
I'm running the installer in an elevated shell.
I've created a local user (non-admin) and checked I can log in to the VM with it. I've given it log on as a service permission. I've also tried adding the service account with the + button in the wizard.
I've specified a MID Server Name of MID_Server_UoB_Dev_IT-01 - does this have to match the hostname of the server or is it a soft field?
Everytime, when I attempt to 'Validate MID Service Settings' i get a response of 'Invalid Service Account' - msiexec log attached.
I've tried this on 3 different servers within my organisation and the same issue everytime, but it has worked on a non-organisation VM, which leads me to think it's either something on our VM image, or our Group Policies, or some other restriction somewhere.
Any advice gratefully received!

Solved by downloading the zip file and editing the config file so that the service runs as Local System.
