Hello,
what shoudl be the process of NAS discovery?
We have several NAS devices (f.e. Synology) and I would like to do SNMP Discovery.
The documentation is not saying much. Is here anybody who has NAS discovery enabled? Because OOTB is not prepared, or I am doing something wrong.
There are SNMP Credentials (community) and are validated, device is accessible. SNMP - Classify probe return 67 OIDs... sofar good.
1. SNMP Classification has not any record for NAS storage in our instance. To which table NAS should be classified? cmdb_ci_storage_server or cmdb_ci_nas_storage?? The table "cmdb_ci_nas_storage" is not present in the table option. (the source is Script include "DiscoveryClassificationTables", but is it best practise to add this option (cmdb_ci_nas_storage)??)
2. SNMP OID Classifoication - similar issue with point 1., there is no option to choose cmdb_ci_nas_storage, (the same with f.e. cmdb_ci_ip_phone. )
3. How did you enabled NAS discvoery please?
Thank you

Unfortunately oob servicenow leaves many people hanging when it comes to datacenter discovery, which is ironic considering the crucial role it plays in the network.
It's nasty but you have to create an snmp classification with the sysObjectID and point it into some hardware class (mass storage device) and then reclass it to cmdb_ci_nas_storage within your custom SNMP query pattern.
The cherry on top is that service now support will not help you at all because its custom. If you get it to work they will then steal it and use it as their own, wonderful neighbors haha.
