We are currently working on Service Mapping and I'm very new to pattern customization.
I have an application hosted on an IIS Server, and it connects to an MS SQL Database. Both servers are discovered successfully, but the connection between them is not getting mapped in the service map.
I want to add a connectivity section in the appropriate pattern (possibly IIS Virtual Directory) to extract the database connection details and create the correct relationship.
Could someone please help with:
Which pattern should be updated?
How to extract the connection string from web.config or registry?
Code examples for the connectivity section to identify the downstream SQL DB?
What values should be used for endpoint type, protocol, port, and query?
As I’m still learning, any pattern connection code and step-by-step guidance would be really appreciated.
Thanks in advance for your help!
