Nutanix - "Virtualized by::Virtualizes" relationships.

Hi,

I was checking the Nutanix documentation and it seems the OOTB Discovery won’t create “Virtualized by::Virtualizes” relationships.
With some few exceptions, our Nutanix instances have mostly Desktop Virtual Machines and we only discover Servers in our environment.
What I'm trying to find is the best place to create those "Virtualized by::Virtualizes" relationships between the VM and the Host when the VM's CI is crated/updated in the CMDB.
Would that be updating the BR "Virtual Computer Check"?
If we customize the BR it won't be updated on future releases/upgrades, right?

Thanks

Hi,

We are facing the same issue, it appears there are out of the box patterns to relate Nutanix Virtual Machine Instances to CIs in the Server class, but not Desktops in the Computer class. I believe this also affects our ITOM licensing.  Would be good to hear from ServiceNow on whether there are plans to release an update to the Nutanix patterns to include Desktops in the relationship pattern.

@jcanjura we wanted to check if you are still facing Nutanix issues? If you still have access to Nutanix environment it would be great if we can connect. We are just analyzing Nutanix environment

Hi @SrinivasRamanu1 ,

we are also trying to implement Nutanix discovery, but we see the Prims Centers been put into the cmdb, but the relationships and data from the prism center to the vm's are very slim and non existing.
If you compare them with vcenter Identification and recon rules.

Also, it seems because there are no rules OOTB for nutanix, nothing wil be updated correctly

Is lots of customisation/configuration the only way to have it mapped out as it should be? We hoped it worked well enough with the OOTB patterns etc.

Kind regards,

Collin R.

I am also facing similar issues.  Was anyone able to work out a solution?
