OIDs and MIBs

I am finding that although Discovery finds lots of things, it doesn't always put the info it found where I think it should.

Case in point: printers.

We have a wide variety of HP, Xerox, Lexmark, Zebra, etc. printers. Sometimes the Model and Serial number get entered into the CI in the desired fields, sometimes not.

Rather than going into each CI, finding the OID and updating the SNMP OID for that particular make/model, could adding additional MIBs into Discovery give me "a head start" on fixing up these OIDs?

Or perhaps someone is willing to "share" their updated OIDs so I can import them? (yes, I would rather not redo the work that has already been done).

Perhaps there is someplace we can "share" all our hard OID research?

Yes sharing is caring!

Perhaps there's a common MIB that can pull back those values, maybe host resources? If you can survey a number of your printers see if you can get consistency then your 90% there...
