I have a situation where a connection has to be created from one server to multiple servers. The configuration file contains between 5 and 10 connections that are in the form of FQDN:Port. For example the file contains server1.my.com:443. The host exists in the cmdb in shortname form. I can build out the table with table.host and table.port.
The problem I am running into is getting the convert from hostname to IP for discovery to map the connections. Does anyone have a script that does this? Maybe point me to a script in an existing pattern to convert ?
