Hi all,
We're not implementing Service Mapping right now. We're trying to understand the CMDB chain:
- Business Application (cmdb_ci_business_app)
- Mapped Business Application(cmdb_ci_service_discovered) — this is where our project detail sits
- Cloud Account (cmdb_ci_cloud_service_account), already populated via our Cloud Discovery (AssumeRole-based, credential-less setup)
Could someone share a real/worked example with actual CI names at each layer?
Specifically, which attributes/fields should we be paying attention to at each step to make sure this chain links up correctly — for example:
- On the Business Application CI, which field actually points to/populates the Mapped Business Application?
- On the Mapped Business Application, which attribute holds the project detail, and which attribute ties it to the Cloud Account?
- Any attribute that commonly gets left blank or misconfigured and breaks this chain?
A concrete example (even sample data) showing the correct attribute values at each layer would really help us validate our own setup.
Thanks!
