Troubleshooting Data manager Retire Policy

Hasini Chukka

A Data Manager Retirement Policy has been created with the following configuration:

  • Retirement Definition: True
  • Policy Filter: CIs are associated with the filter
  • Needs Review: Unchecked
  • Retire Schedule Job – Run As: User has the Admin role

Although the policy execution is being created successfully, CMDB Data Management Tasks are not being created.

Possible Reason

One possible reason is that a CMDB Data Management Task already exists for the CIs for which the new task is being generated.

Check the CMDB Data Management Task records and verify whether any of the CIs are already associated with an existing task. If an existing task is still open for those CIs, a new CMDB Data Management Task will not be created.

Even if the existing task is closed, the CI may still remain associated with that task in the following table:

cmdb_data_management_task_to_ci

This table maintains the relationship between the CI and the corresponding CMDB Data Management
