Unable to set field to audited.

I ran into a problem trying to change a field to audited in a table, when i set the field it shows this way
What does this green bar mean? I have elevated my role and it still shows this way.

Please navigate to System Dictionary of Assigned field and turn on audit.
- Navigate to System Definition > Dictionary.
- If necessary, customize the list view to include showing the Attributes column.
- Navigate to the table and field (column) you want to whitelist.
- In the Attributes field, enter audit=true.
